Inappropriate Laughter

I have said it before: I have no filter. This leads me to laughing at really inappropriate times when others would be dismayed at my hee-hawing. Here is the latest example.

I was at my parents on Sunday celebrating Andy's birthday. As we were preparing to eat, we gathered around to bless the food as we always do. Dad's prayer went something like this:

"Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that we can all be here to celebrate Andrew's Birthday. We thank you Lord that Andy is here with us to celebrate and I pray that this next year will be just like the last....."

*Insert here me looking at Cari who is cracking up into Rigg's head and then looking at Andy whose face says "I'm not going along with that request....are you kidding me?". And then of course I start CRACKING up, so bad that I believe I snorted.

Dad started smiling as he finished his prayer. Mom continued to be very reverent. Then dad started to try and explain, it just came out wrong, sorry, that's not what I meant.....I'm still snorting at this point.

Now why in the world would I laugh at something like that? Hmmm? That's NOT funny. Andy has had a terrible year. It was just the facial expression and the sincere prayer that my dad was giving. Kinda like when I used to play the piano for church and the line that from the hymn that goes "when angels prostrate fall" I without fail would sing (accidently) "angels prostate fall"......right into the microphone as loud as can be. Then start cracking up so bad I could barely play the piano, let alone sing....just a spectacle I tell you. Pure spectacle.

Well, at least Cari was in on it too. That didn't make me feel so bad. But now that I look back, she and I are always laughing during prayer. Hmmmmm.......
